We recently started to provide South African Bead Making Workshops to tie into the South African World cup celebrations.

World Vision where the first to get their hands on these workshops for their Wychwood Festival at Cheltenham racecourse this June.

World Vision is an international charity that works to make a serious and sustainable impact on poverty and its causes, especially as they affect children. They are committed to long-term change, which means connecting people.

Whether it’s enabling people in developing communities to support each other, or linking donors to those in need through child sponsorship, or creating networks to campaign for justice, we believe that getting people connected is the best way to make a difference.

This is what World Vision had to say about the outcome of the bead making workshops for young people.

Dear 2020 Effect,

Just a note to say thank you very much for sourcing Wendy for our beadmaking workshops at Wychwood Festival at Cheltenham racecourse. She was fantastic, and was very popular – the children loved the workshops and the jewellery they were able to make. The workshops really contributed to the success of our exhibit so many thanks. No doubt we will have more festivals lined up in future, so will be in touch when we have some more dates for the exhibit confirmed.

Many thanks

S Lisowiec | World Vision UK
